Yvonne Nelson, Sarkodie, Lydia Forson and a host Ghanaian celebrities have been on the neck of government over the constantly worsening power crisis. The disgruntled celebrities secured a police permit to organize a vigil to voice out their frustrations. The power crisis has led to loss of lives, businesses laying off thousands of workers and general discomfort among the Ghanaian populace, just to mention a few
However according to the Registrar of University of Ghana Mrs. Mercy Haziel, the school is unaware of the impending vigil and has ordered an immediate removal of all news headlines associating the university premises to the vigil. She also insisted that the university distances itself from the activity.
