UGHANSA Health Week 2016- Free Health Screening, Blood Donation and NHIS Registration for Legon Community.

As part of the annual health week celebration, the University of Ghana Nursing Students Association (UGHANSA) is inviting the University community to a weeklong celebration of health in grand style from the 4th to 9th April 2016.
The theme for this year’s health week is “prevention of mother to child HIV transmission; the student nurse as a stakeholder”. The association in partnership with the Ghana Aids Commission is therefore, organizing free screening for HIV on Legon campus ( at the school of nursing) throughout the week in addition to routine health screening including blood pressure(BP), body mass index(BMI), cholesterol level, malaria, and health education.
In addition, teams from the Korle Bu Blood Bank and the National Health Insurance Authority will be present to conduct a blood donation exercise and NHIS registration and renewals respectively. Please note that charges for NHIS registration and renewals apply (GHS 27 for renewal and GHS 30 for registration)
All students are therefore encouraged to participate in the activities to maximize the benefits as well as promote humanitarian missions.
