A ribbon cutting ceremony has taken place for the official commencement of the newly refurbished campus radio, ultimate FM ,101.9MHZ by the Students Representative Council President together with the Vice Dean of Students of UDS Wa Campus.

The ceremony which took place at the station’s premises on January 18, 2016 about 11:00am was attended by some SRC executives led by H. E Bernard Amoh, some school management officials, student populace and presenters of ultimate radio.

According to the SRC President, the refurbishment of ultimate radio was in fulfilment of the promise made by the 2015/2016 academic year SRC of the University for Development Studies, Wa Campus.

” when we took office, we made a pledge that, things that are within the jurisdiction of the SRC to provide is what we are going to do. So immediately the Vice Dean and myself gathered momentum with the General Manager and we visited here. We found the things that the station needs and we sent a request to Tamale for approval ” – He said.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Dean in the person Mr. Marshal Ziemah also advised the Presenters to use the facility to promote; peace and tranquility, academic work, social activities and students welfare.

The General Manager of the Radio, Mr. Ernest Appau concluded the ceremony by thanking all the people who were present especially the SRC President, the Public Relations Officer ( P. R. O) and the Vice Dean to show appreciation for their efforts and time spent in refurbishing and commissioning of ULTIMATE RADIO.
