Residents of JTN Yankah hall, University of Ghana, went to the polls today, 6th of May 2017, to elect JCR Executives to take over from the Daniel Tetteh-Gberbie led administration after barely escaping a court litigation.
The Electoral Commissioner Edwin Quaye declared the certified provisional results at about 5:30pm, 30 minutes after close of polls.
Kingsley Adum, the sole candidate for the presidential position polled 208 ‘Yes’ votes against 25 ‘No’ votes representing 89.27% of the total votes cast.
Andy Terry Keofie polled 156 out of 245 valid votes for the Vice Presidential portfolio to score 63.67% defeating his contender Princess Dotse who polled 89 votes representing 36.33% of total valid votes cast.
Juliana Ntamoah won the General Secretary position with 207 ‘Yes’ votes against 19 ‘No’ votes representing 91.59%.
Betty Mpiani polled 215 ‘Yes’ votes representing 93.07% against 16 ‘No’ votes to secure herself the Treasurer position.
Incumbent president, H.E. Daniel Tetteh-Gberbie is expected to hand over the reins of power before the month runs out.
