Ghana Premier League Review. Game Week 1

After a 3months wait, the Ghana Premier League kick started this weekend .Game week 1 presented it own dose of excitement and disappointments. Defending champions Ash Gold begun their title defence with a 2-1 victory over Medeama SC with the Nuhu brothers making history. Liberty Professionals were pipped at the Bechem Park as they lost by 2-0 margin. Bechem Utd proved too strong for the scientific soccer lads. Hearts of Oak put their pre-season woes behind them as they beat New Edubiase 1-0 courtesy a Samuel Yeboah late goal to claim their first victory under new manager Kenichi. Newcomers Techiman City were handed their first ever top flight win courtesy Issaka Ibrahim’s opener against Berekum Chelsea. Dreams FC had a dream start to GHPL life with a win away from home against J. E Sarpong’s Ebusua Dwarfs. That was Dwarfs’ first home defeat in 2years. Johnson Owusu Oppong made history by scoring Dreams FC first ever GHPL goal.

The biggest winner of the day was Wa All Stars who thrashed Hasaacas 3-0 to kick start what looks like an interesting season ahead. A Richard Arthur goal and Maxwell Baako’s brace was enough to see off the Sekondi based club. Inter Allies beat Aduana stars 2-0 whiles earlier this week Kotoko lost to John Killa’s West African Football Academy in far away Sogakope. Something for David Duncan and his men to ponder over
