22yr Old KNUST Law Student Wins Kwabre East NPP Primaries

Ahead of the general elections in 2016, NPP went to polls today to elect Member of Parliament hopefuls who will represent the party. With a lot of big gurus losing their tickets to represent their constituents in next year’s general election, the biggest surprise of them all was at Kwabre East constituency where a 22 year-old law student of Kwame University of Science and Technology, Ms. Francisca Oteng Mensah unseated Incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Kofi Frimpong by polling 321 votes.
MP for Kwabre East, Kofi Frimpong managed to secure 187 votes while two other aspirants, Lawyer Osei-Poku and K. Adjei-Sefa polled 202 and 33 votes respectively.
This means that the young courageous lady will represent New Patriotic party on the ticket of Kwabre East in next year’s general elections. Are we likely to have Francisca as the youngest female parliamentarian in the history of Ghana on the ticket of the N.P.P? What made Francisca to win this elections? Can a student be in active partisan politics while in school? Undergradfile will bring to you more on the story.
