University of Ghana to Unveil Bust for Prof Aryeetey in Send-Off Ceremony

Come 29th July, 2016, Prof. Ernest Arteetey will be immortalized at the University of Ghana when a bust is unveiled for him during his send-off ceremony at the Great Hall of the university.

Prof. Ernest Aryeetey is retiring as the Vice Chancellor of University of Ghana and he will be succeeded by Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, former Provost of the university’s College of Basic and Applied Sciences.

Prof Aryeetey has served for 6 years since 2010. He has subsequently been appointed as one of the 12-member governing council of the United Nations University (UNU) in Japan.

Famous for his world class vision for the University of Ghana, Prof Ernest Aryeetey has undoubtedly served the university diligently and earnestly. His administration wasn’t without criticism. However, the commendations and admiration he has won is a lot more. Under his terms, the university has seen significant development both in academics and infrastructure.

  1. Professor Ernest Aryeetey was committed to excellence from his days as research fellow at ISSER, and never looked back, left or right. During his tenure as VC he demonstrated valour and vision as well. He has indeed accomplished substantially and triumphed over huge obstacles in the local environment. He needs commendation.
