The court, yesterday April 1, adjourned sitting to today, April 2 at 9am. The court could not hear the case due to the absence of the counsels for the plaintiff. Two hours after the scheduled time for hearing, the plaintiff’s counsels were nowhere to be found.

The plaintiff, Joseph Agyekum prayed the court to adjourn hearing because a member of his legal team had taken ill.

Counsels for the Defendant (Electoral Commission) prayed that the court dismisses the suit arguing that the plaintiff had clearly demonstrated his desire to delay the court.

The Bench ruled that the case be adjourned to 4pm and the plaintiff (Joseph Agyekum) slapped with a fine of 80 cedis. Joseph Agyekum is expected to pay the fine before hearing at 4pm, today.
The Bench added that hearing will proceed with or without counsels for plaintiff at 4pm.
