UG SRC Presidential Candidate Withdraws From Race

Information reaching ugfile.com indicates that Onasis Sowah Anyetei, a Presidential Candidate has withdrawn his candidature from the upcoming SRC.

This was revealed in a statement signed by the Chairman of the SRC Electoral Commission, Rexford Opare.

Attempts to reach Sowah Anyetei at the time of publication proved futile. Onasis in a letter dated April 10 informed the Electoral Commission of his decision to withdraw from the race citing personal reasons as the rationale.

OFFICE OF THE SRC ELECTORAL COMMISSION

The above office wishes to bring to the notice of all students that Mr. Anyetei Sowah Onassis has withdrawn his candidature as a presidential candidate for the upcoming SRC General elections.

Schedule seven 4 (b) of the SRC Constitution and Article 63 clause 7 of the 1992 Constitution gives the right to a candidate for presidency in an election to withdraw.

In this regard, he can no longer partake in any activity pertaining to the election as a candidate but as an electorate
