UG SRC Begins Distribution of Passports


The University of Ghana SRC on Monday, April 4 started the distribution of passports to students who successfully completed the registration process last semester.

The SRC as part of its projects offered students an opportunity undertake passport registration with the SRC serving as a facilitator.
Registration for applicants commenced on 13th October 2015. Some students had criticized the SRC For failing to provide the passport last semester but the SRC Secretary Felicia Elizabeth Adjei explained that the delay was due to a nationwide problem at the passport office.


Speaking in an exclusive interview with, SRC Secretary Felicia Elizabeth Agyei revealed that the passports for 380 students out of the 540 applicants are ready. She added that the SRC would not be following up on the remaining but leave that to the next administration

“Out of the 540 applicants who were sent to the passport office, 380 successfully went through the process without any mistakes or wrong spelling of names, we would not be following up on the one’s we are doing this semester since we would have handed over wont want to make any such promise…”

Some recipients of the passport had this to say

“Fobi has done very well, i am glad i have received mine”
“it delayed, that got me worried, but am happy its ready”

Students who visited passport office under the auspices of the SRC and have transaction numbers are supposed to pick their passport books from the office of the SRC secretary.
