UG Accra City Campus SRC Elections Slated for April 28


University of Ghana’s satellite campus, Accra City Campus will on April 28 vote to elect SRC Executives for the 2016/2017 academic year.
Nomination for various portfolios was opened on April 6 and will end on 15th April (picking of form) but submission of forms will end on April 18 at 4pm. Below are the various executive portfolios and the price of the forms;

Presidential: 200 cedis
General Secretary: 150 cedis
Treasurer: 250 cedis
Women’s commissioner: 150 cedis

Vetting of aspirants will take place on April 20 at 9am. The Presidential debate which will offer students an opportunity to hear from the presidential aspirants on their policies as well as ask questions will be on April 22. Manifesto reading will be on April 25, campaign will end on April 26 at 11:59pm with face to face on Radio Univers 105.7 on April 27.

Thursday, April 28 will be the day of election. Voting is scheduled to start at 9am and end at 5pm. Provisional results will be declared the same day with official results published on April 29th.

The Chair of the Electoral Commission Dra-Zonyrah speaking on Accra based Radio Univers this morning, said plans are far advanced to ensure that the process is free , fair and transparent
“we have put measures in place to ensure that the process is free, fair and transparent”, he said.
