A level 300 student of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Kalid Zenab, has been attacked by armed men believed to be robbers.
She is currently battling for her life at the Wa Regional Government Hospital in the Upper West Region, due to the many cutlass wounds she suffered from her attackers as they tried robbing her.
They succeeded in making away with her purse containing an unspecified amount of money and some ID cards.
A colleague of the victim, Kwasi Osman, said the lady was attacked at about 11:00 pm last night and was left in a pool of blood while returning from a birthday party of a friend.
Students of UDS Wa campus, told sister website ultimate1069.com that they’ve been grappling with attacks from criminals who either snatch their laptops and motorbikes at gun point on campus or on their way home from lectures.
The situation, according to them, has seen little or no improvement, despite police intervention, leaving them at the mercy of these bandits.
“We are not safe in the town at all”, one student lamented.
The incident has since been reported to the Upper West regional police.
