A student from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) got injured when members of pro-NDC and pro-NPP groups, TEIN and TESCON, clashed on campus.
Members of the Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN of the NDC) and the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON of the NPP) at the University of Cape Coast clashed this Saturday morning over a venue.
A student, Derrick Agyei Yeboah, who spoke about the issue in a radio interview said TESCON members had scheduled a general meeting at their ‘usual venue’ but when they turned up for the meeting, they discovered the venue, which they had booked, was being used for a TEIN congress.
He continued that as part of preparations for the congress, the students belonging to TEIN replaced the NPP posters of TESCON with NDC colours.
This resulted in the clash between the two groups and the police had to intervene for the matter to be resolved.
One student, he said, got injured during the clash. The victim had been sent to hospital for treatment as at the time of this report.
