Romeo Avemegah-President Elect

Romeo Avemegah, a level 300 student of the University of Ghana, legon, emerged victorious in the University of Ghana Economics Students’ Society (UGESS) 2015 Elections. He contested for the prestigious portfolio of UGESS President and had to contend with Asare Kweku Isaac.

The victory by Romeo Avemegah came as no surprise to some students who believed his credentials as a student activist over the years had made him quite popular. Mr.Avemegah served Legon Hall as a General Assembly Representative for one year after which he shifted his focus to serving UGESS as President. His contender, Asare Kweku Isaac, a resident of Commonwealth Hall, provided stiff opposition to Avemegah by equaling reaching out to the masses. Observers of the political terrain claim Romeo’s recent petition to the Head of Department is believed to have gained him populace support. He is reported to have petitioned the Head of Department requesting that the department begins issuing attachment letters to students as is being done in other departments. The Head of Department agreed with his petition and this is being done now.
