PRESIDENTIAL RACE GOES INTO RUN OFF

University of Ghana students went to the polls on Thursday to choose a new set of leaders to take over from the Esinam Afi Seade led administration amidst all the challenges that has plagued the process this year.

The election was initially scheduled to take place on 11th April but was postponed due to many challenges and finally came off yesterday 20th April 2017.

Below is the certified results (provisional) declared by the Electoral Commissioner, Godwin Nyamador

Treasurer
Effah Emmanuel – 1,863
Ethel Donkor – 2,075
[Ethel Dinkor – Provisional Winner]

General Secretary
Fafa Esi – 1853
Maame Serwaa – 2,188
[Maame Serwaa Provisional Winner]

President
Ayirebi Acquah Schandorf – 194 (4.692%)
Daniel Otting Awuah – 1,963 (47.48%)
Sylvester Amoako – 1,725 (41.727)
Pascal Hayford Agbesi 122 (2.957%)
Daakyehene Arhin Gerald 130 (3.144)

Daniel Otting Awuah and Sylvester Amoako will by the provisions of the SRC constitution go for a run off, which is scheduled to take place next week.
