Patriots Ghana UG Chapter Launches Young Patriots Reading Clubs At Basic Schools In Madina, Accra

As part of a reading project that has been ongoing, the University of Ghana campus chapter of Patriots Ghana has successfully launched the Young Patriots Reading Clubs for basic schools in the La-Nkwantanang Municipality of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

The launch, held at Emmanuel Presby basic school on Tuesday October 27, 2015 was attended by members of The Patriots UG team, teachers and pupils of the school.

In her speech, the President of Patriots UG, Miss Henrietta Asafo-Adjei explained that the project is aimed at giving children in the basic schools an opportunity to develop competent reading skills and habits as well as enhance their confidence and intellectual development. As part of activities for the day, the pupils were shown an audio-visual story and later given the chance to answer questions on the story to win exercise books and pens.

A similar launch is expected to take place at Madina MA basic school on Friday, October 30, 2015 and subsequently in other basic schools in the municipality and members of Patriots UG will visit the pupils on voluntary basis to guide them in their reading sessions.
