Eric Edem Agbana has won the keenly contested 2013 University of Ghana SRC Elections.
He won the elections with 2,888 votes representing 52.36% of the total votes cast. Michael Adjei came in second with 1479 votes representing 26.81% of the total votes. Dinko Hanaan Dinko had 1110 votes representing 20.12% of the total votes cast while Ame Ame, the only female contender in the race had 39 votes representing 0.71% of the total votes cast. 42 voters skipped that vote.
For the position of Treasurer, Paa Kwesi Dadson won with 3119 votes representing 58.21% of the total votes while his only competitor, Solomon Addo, had 2239 votes representing 41.79% of the total votes. 198 voters, representing 3.56% skipped that vote.
Sandra Ewool Won the SRC Secretary Position with 4174 votes representing 78.16% of the total votes while Vera Hayibor, her only competitor, had 1168 votes representing 21.84% of the total votes. 209 voters, representing 3.76% skipped that position.
The elections came off a week after the initially scheduled date because Ame Ame placed an injunction on the elections. She claimed she did not get enough time to campaign well for the elections since her team was finally cleared too close to the scheduled date for the elections.
Eric Edem will thus be taking over the mantle of the University of Ghana student leadership from Edomd Kombat, the outgoing SRC president. He will be assisted by his Vice, Kwame Asare-Antwi.
