Alfred Kumi, disqualified SRC presidential aspirant. (Applicant in court)

Emmanuel Boadi and Alfred Kumi who filed nomination to run for SRC President and Vice respectively have been disqualified from the race even before the vetting scheduled for tomorrow Friday, 24th of March 2017 in a broadcast released by the office of the electoral commission of UG-SRC Thursday afternoon.

The notice stated categorically that “Emmanuel Boadi and Alfred Kumi have been disqualified according to records of the dean”. It is however unclear what those records are and the student populace is undoubtedly hoping for an official clarification from the electoral commission.

However an article retrieved from radiouniversonline.com has stated clearly that the duo were disqualified due to their inability to meet the constitutionally mandated CGPA of at least 3.0 as at the time of filing the nomination.

Ugfile is still working to get in touch with Mr. Kumi and Boadi for their reaction to the episode and would keep you updated.
