It is said, “The lizard that jumped from the high Iroko tree to the ground said he would praise himself if no one else did”. Such is the attitude of mankind also. It is not uncommon to see people seek to have fun after a stressful work/activity. What then could be one’s desire after a 4-year stressful Bachelor’s degree course?
While in Primary 6, JHS 3 and SHS 4, the final years of each of my educational level, I realized there was always a unique behaviour put up by most of my colleagues in these levels. The Leavers’ party/dinner or any of the programs organized for the leavers’ serve as a ground for a lot of indecent things to happen.
A lot of students temper with their ‘chastity’ during these times. Many see these moments to be times they can do things that are really ‘crazy’. As if God does not watch over mankind on those particular days, a lot of students do things that they have kept themselves away from.
I address this directly to that saved soul and that child of God out there. While coming to the university, I thought this phenomenon will not find its face here. Was my thought right? Many are the times spent in the ‘realms of the spirit’ with God at Sarbah Field, miracle centre, botanical garden, the church, room, and many other places where we meet God to commune with Him. Why will one seek to destroy a dignity built up for 4 years at just one dinner?
Like the three Hebrew boys of the book of Daniel, we ought to keep our bodies chaste and also pure for God even if not for our future marriage partner. The Lord Jesus Christ require of us to always keep ourselves chaste. I entreat all believers to keep in mind that they are of the Lord and have to stay pure for Him. In all, after graduation, what next? It still takes the grace of God to sail through the lot of things that the future holds.
“For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband that I may present you as a chaste virgin to CHRIST”. 2 Corinthians 11:2. Shalom. #KCTD
