This news was announced by President of the Ghana FA Kwesi Nyantakyi following an Executive Committee meeting on Friday. The Ex-Chelsea boss Avram Grant will become the new coach of Ghana according to the Ghana Football Association subject to the agreement of financial terms.
The GFA prefer to appoint the 59-year-old who was considered to have impressed the most during his interview session.
The Ghana FA has however put Juan Ignacio Jiminez on a stand-by list in the event they fail to reach an agreement with Avram Grant.
“They [committee] did very well to go through applications and shortlisted five.”
“They interviewed them and two satisfied their requirements”
“Our preference is Mr. Avram Grant and the next is Ignacio Jimimenz.”
“We will be engaging Mr. Grant in further discussion and see if he can be appointed as the coach.”
The GFA also confirmed that if an agreement proved difficult,it would fall on Juan Ignacio Jimenez to take over the job. Ghana has been without a substantive coach since the dismissal of Kwesi Appiah in September.
