S.R.C President-Joshua Dogbe

The S.R.C President of the University of Ghana, Joshua Dogbe, has stated that provisional S.R.C President elect, Davis Ohene Fobi will not be sworn in under his watch.
The Judicial Board hearing the election petition ruled last week that Davis Ohene Fobi should be sworn in. This was after an application was made requesting for that by the counsel for Davis Ohene Fobi, Nana Benyin.
The S.R.C President in an interview with Radio Univers on Campus Exclusive, stated that , the decision of the Judicial Board contravenes the very constitution of which he swore an oath to defend. He reminded listeners that when his election was challenged last year, he was not sworn in until the case ended. He indicated that the hand-over ceremony cum swearing-in will only take place after the final verdict by the Judicial Board. The President remained resolute despite being reminded that he risked being impeached for disobeying the ruling of the Judicial Board.
In a sharp rebuttal on the same show, counsel for Davis Ohene Fobi, Nana Benyin expressed surprise at what he described as an unconstitutional move by the incumbent President. He stated that his outfit will be considering instituting impeachment process against the incumbent President. He explained that the President had no constitutional basis to disobey the Judicial Board. He again fumed that only the Judicial Board could interpret the constitution and not the President.
Meanwhile, the Accra High Court hearing the case brought before it by Worlu Great Damzi and Jeffrey Yeboah regarding the same electoral dispute had its first hearing today at 9am. A letter intercepted by ugfile also indicates that the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr.Adomako has written a letter to Worlu Great Damzi and Jeffrey Yeboah advising them to withdraw the case from the High Court. Ugfile will keep readers up to speed with events as they unfold.

The Dean should allow the dispute to be settled legally. What does he seek to achieve by writing to the petitioners to withdraw the case from court? i never trusted the SRC Judicial Board to do a fair trial of this case. We want the truth!
The truth could be that,Fobi won genuinely or otherwise or Mikdad was cheated or was the deserved winner.
SRC Judicial Board should not start another “war” by attempting to impeach Joshua because that will again be sent to High Courts.
    #truth must stand
