The Judicial Board hearing the 2015 university of Ghana S.R.C election petition has ordered that the second respondent Davis Ohene Fobi be sworn in together with the other S.R.C Executives.

The Bench gave this ruling following an application by the second respondent requesting that the court gives this order. Counsels for the second respondent had objected to the application on grounds that due process had not been followed. The court however disagreed.

Two of the counsels for the petitioners, Counsel Derrick Ackah and Counsel Abisa Barnabass have both been disbarred by the Bench. The Bench ordered that the license of the two counsels be repealed and that both students can only hold themselves as counsels after 4th May 2016.

Davis Ohene Fobi in an interview with after the court’s ruling expressed his delight at the fact that the court had granted the application by his counsel. He also stated that the court case had affected him as well as other students including the justices who should be preparing for exam.

The date for the swearing in ceremony is still not certain; will keep students informed about events as they unfold.
