Mr. Conrad Kakraba has admonished all students to find a purpose for their lives, define their mission, vision and goals to make them strategically positioned for the corporate world after school.
The GTV News anchor, Editor, Lecturer and Author, was speaking at an entrepreneurship seminar, organized by the University of Ghana Nursing Students Association on October 17, 2015. The theme for the seminar was “Strategic positioning as a graduate nurse in the world of work” and pertinent among the strategies he outlined for students and young adults to adopt for a successful life after school were:
— Finding a purpose for one’s life
—Drawing a strategic plan
—Continuous personal development
—Making a difference
Mr. Kakraba also took the participants through CV writing, interviewing skills and opportunities available for personal development.
Mr. Bismark Tay, a life coach and leadership trainer, speaking at the seminar, also outlined the need for graduate nurses to be entrepreneurial and strive to always add value to society in order to be assets instead of liabilities.
The seminar, first of its kind in the School of Nursing, was aimed at addressing challenges faced by graduate nurses in securing employment as well as opportunities for further studies and participants included undergraduates as well as post graduates
In his closing remarks, the President of the Association, Mr. Vincent Owusu Appiah called on students to actively partake in the association’s activities. He took the opportunity to appeal to corporate bodies and individuals to support the Association to enable them carry out all their plans.
