BH/JCR Elections: Landslide Victory For Edith Akati


The only lady in perhaps one of the most heated races to the presidency of the University of Ghana Buiness House JCR, Miss Edith Akati has won.
Together with her Vice Presidential candidate Derrick Tsagli, the duo polled a total of 469 valid votes cast representing 46.34% while the closest contender, Master Evans Adanya and his Vice Presidential candidate Miss Efua Duoduah polled a total of 311valid votes cast. Master Richmond Dompreh and his Vice Prsidential candidate Andy Haizel polled a total of 232 valid votes cast representing 22.92%.


Emmanuel Afranie popularly called ‘Chairman’ received a massive endorsement for the Organizing Secretary position with a total of 875 valid votes cast representing 91.34% for the unopposed candidate.
Joseph Nuamah won over Erica M. Gbordjoh for the General Secretary position with a total of 669 valid votes cast representing 68.47% while Miss. Erica secured a total of 308 valid votes cast.

Desmond Ogbarmey lost the treasurer position narrowly to John Kyei with a total of 463 valid votes cast representing 47.58%. John Kyei took the lead with a total of 510 valid votes cast representing 52.42%.
The total voter turn-out was 1,017.


Handing over is schedule for November 5, 2015.

Outgoing president of the Business House JCR Mr. Senyo Adu called on losing candidates to rally behind their winning counterparts to help build a stronger body together.
