At last! Julius Anthony and Kwaku Asante join hands to the Union Building

Deputy SRC PRO and Presidential aspirant, Julius Kwame Anthony has finally merged forces with Bismark Kwaku Asante, a distinguished student activist to contest in the upcoming University of Ghana SRC elections as President and Vice President respectively.

Prior to now, it has been widely speculated by some political pundits that the two were likely to merge; and that such a merger held very bright prospects of victory.

Converging at the SRC Union Building today, the supporters of both aspirants were thrown into ecstasy as the duo finally handed over their nomination form to the Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Roland Eyram Tettey.

Speaking to UG File, the two expressed their delight in the merger and were certain that their union was a truly winnable ticket. To them, the SRC has reached a point in its timeline were competent hands were needed to man its affairs; and in their opinion, they were best cut for the purpose.

From Commonwealth Hall, Bismark Kwaku Asante would be banking his hopes on the solidarity of the Vandals in addition to the numbers he pulls from the Political Science Department. Julius on the other hand will be aiming at the ground swell of support from the Business School in addition to his unbeatable popularity at his hall of residence ; Elizabeth Frances Sey Hall.

Meanwhile, former JCR Organiser of Mensah Sarbah Hall, Isaac Agyeman, alias IA has also joined forces with Banahene Louis Owusu to contest as President and Vice President respectively. News on other mergers has it that Emmanuel Boadi, a two-time runner has also set his sail together with Isaac Ananpansah.

Barring any unforseen circumstances, all aspirants who have filed their nominations will make a formal showing of themselves at a public vetting to the conducted by the Electoral Commission on Friday 29th March, 2019 at the SRC Union Building; after academic clearance from the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs.
