Speaking on Radio Univers 105.7 (Campus Exclusive) this morning, Mr. Johnson stated that the amount was the same as that received by Executives under the Joshua Dogbe led administration.

“The allowances provided there are allowances approved under the Joshua Dogbe led administration, these are allowances every Executive is entitled to, and these are not new things we are bringing on board”

Background
The Proposed University of Ghana SRC budget for the first semester 2015/2016 reveals some interesting figures that sets one thinking. The proposed budget was however withdrawn by the Treasurer, Perry Johnson on Friday September 4, 2015.

The withdrawn document had administrative expenses as Note 13. Executive allowance was captured as 9,300 cedis (93million (old cedis)), an amount of 800 cedis (8million (old cedis)) as communication and 5,628 cedis (56.28million (old cedis)) as Residential allowance.

Budget withdrawn
Perry Johnson further explained why he withdrew the budget

“I realized that there was too much tension, and I thought that approving a budget at a time people were not thinking objectively could go a long way to affect the running of affairs, also there was not a full representation of the House”, he reiterated.

A reviewed budget is expected to be laid before the House in the coming days, what still remains unclear is whether changes will be made to the various components.

Great job @Ackah-Blay. dont bother about the SRC executives allowance. they deem it fit to repeat tradition even if it is done in the wrong way.
